Buried Lives Project
So... What do these six paintings have in common?
Answer: They are all the same painting. Each picture shows the painting as it existed for only one day. In this conceptual approach, I chose to demonstrate the ephemeral quality of beauty as well as construct a physical metaphor for the way in which we, as humans, layer ourselves. We often bury our past, and grow into something else. The metaphor is extended in that the canvas started as a pure, blank slate (Just as humanity did), and, by the end of the seven days I worked on this piece, I had covered the whole canvas with white again - bringing it full circle (And corresponding to the purifying that comes with death for those who are Saved).
